Boom! The biggest sporting event in Dubrovnik, and indeed in this part of Europe, comes to the city at the end of the month with the Du Motion Runners Days Dubrovnik events. For the seventh time in a row runners from all over the world will compete in this two-day extravaganza of sport. If you don’t want to compete that’s fine as support is always needed, cheer on the runners and soak up the atmosphere. 

This two-day running festival traditionally starts on Saturday, April 29 with a demanding, but very attractive Run The Wall race, due to which the world-famous city landmark will be taken over by runners instead of tourists. The Walls of Dubrovnik have been considered to be amongst the greatest fortification systems of the Middle Ages. They run an uninterrupted course of approximately 1940 metres in length, encircling most of the Old City and reaching a maximum height of about 25 metres. Everyone who accepts the challenge of conquering the Walls and its 1080 stairs will be awarded with a magnificent view of the city and an experience that won't be forgotten so soon. It's also worth mentioning this is a very exclusive race, limited to only 100 runners.

On the same day, the Kids Race will fill Stradun with the laughter and joy of Dubrovnik kindergartners and elementary school students.

Sunday, April 30, is reserved for the highlight of the entire event, the globally famous Dubrovnik Half Marathon and the charity 5K race that gets the entire city in motion and motivates citizens for recreation for a noble cause. Start and finish of all races are on Stradun, Dubrovnik's most famous and longest street.
