Croatia Ranks among Top Safest Countries for Digital Nomads in 2023, According to Global Peace Index

14.07.2023

The
Global Peace Index has recently released its rankings for 2023, providing
valuable insights into the safest destinations for digital nomads. By comparing
this updated safety data with information on popular countries among remote
workers, the 20 safest locations for digital nomad lifestyles were identified
by the website travelinglifestyle.

It's
important to note that this list is an estimation, as it considers overall
country safety ratings from the Global Peace Index, while digital nomads often
reside in specific safe areas within those countries. For example, although
Mexico has a low safety rating as a country, digital nomads tend to stay in
secure areas.

The Global Peace Index (GPI) is a comprehensive measure that assesses the
peacefulness of nations and regions worldwide, taking into account factors such
as violence, crime rates, political stability, militarization, and societal
safety.

To
determine the most popular digital nomad countries, the website relied on data
collected by Resume.io. Their analysis tracked Instagram posts with the
#digitalnomad hashtag to identify the countries where contemporary remote
workers are most active and engaged.

Here
are the top 20 countries from the Resume.io list, ordered by their position on
the GPI rank:
